Touch Accuracy Test
Tap targets that appear across different screen regions. This checks whether your display registers taps precisely where you touch — important for small buttons, keyboards, and fine-detail UI.
Run 5 guided tests directly in your browser — no app to install. Check accuracy, multi-finger detection, swipe tracking, dead zones, and tap response speed on any phone, tablet, or touch laptop.
What We Test
Each test is designed to reveal a specific class of touchscreen problem. Tap Start Test to run them all in sequence, or read what each one checks below.
Tap targets that appear across different screen regions. This checks whether your display registers taps precisely where you touch — important for small buttons, keyboards, and fine-detail UI.
Place multiple fingers simultaneously to see how many touch points your screen can track at once. Most modern devices support 5–10 simultaneous points. Useful for gaming, pinch-to-zoom, and gestures.
Draw across guided paths in all four directions: left, right, up, and down. This verifies continuous touch tracking — catching glitchy swipes, broken scroll behavior, or uneven drag response.
Drag across a grid that covers your full screen. Cells light up as you touch them, revealing any regions that do not respond — the classic sign of physical screen damage, a poor screen protector, or a faulty digitizer.
Rapidly tap a moving target over 10 seconds. This measures how consistently and quickly your screen registers fast, repeated touches — revealing lag, dropped taps, or ghost-touch issues under rapid input.

The digitizer is the transparent layer beneath your glass that converts finger pressure and capacitance into touch coordinates. It is separate from the display panel itself.
When a digitizer fails partially, specific zones stop responding — these are dead zones. A full digitizer failure means no touch input is recognised at all.
Accuracy can drift over time due to physical wear, heat damage, water ingress, or a poor-quality replacement part after a screen repair. Thick glass screen protectors can also slightly offset where the screen thinks you tapped.
If taps are registering a few millimetres from where you touch, try recalibrating via your device settings (Android) or replacing your screen protector.
Watch for: taps not registering, phantom touches with no finger on screen (ghost touch), swipes that stutter or drift, multi-touch gestures not working, or the screen freezing temporarily.
Our 5-test suite is designed to surface each of these failure modes in a simple, guided way.
Mobile games often require 3–6 simultaneous touch points for joystick + button combinations. If your device drops inputs during intense gameplay, the Multi-Touch and Tap Response tests can confirm whether the screen is the bottleneck.
Tempered glass protectors have minimal impact on touch quality when properly applied. However, cheap TPU films, air bubbles, or accumulated dust under any protector can create unresponsive patches.
If the Dead Zone test reveals areas that clear up after you remove your protector, the protector is likely the cause.
If multiple tests fail consistently, especially the Dead Zone and Accuracy tests, the hardware likely needs service. A cracked digitizer, damaged flex cable, or water damage cannot be resolved in software.
Use your test results as documentation when speaking with a repair technician or filing a warranty claim.
